Paula Rosenberg, Director of Religious Education |
|
I am Paula Rosenberg and I am happy and honored to be the DRE here. I look forward to each and every Sunday of exploring and teaching your Children and Youth about what it is to be a Unitarian Universalist. This will be accomplished with weekly Children and Youth worship space, as well as weekly RE classes with fun, educational, thought-provoking curriculum in a free, open, sharing atmosphere. We will provide them with the tools they need to be strong, mindful, caring people with a sense of leadership and self worth, as well as a sense of the importance of Social Action in their Congregation, Community and the World.
Before being our DRE, Paula had been the Youth Director at South Nassau Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Freeport for eleven years. She also ran LIYUUTH, a program that provided a venue for the youth from the thirteen Long Island UU congregations to meet monthly to partake in social action projects as well as just have fun. Paula helped develop ICOP (Interfaith Community Outreach Program) in Nassau, a program whereby youth and adults helped community groups plan social events and do outreach. In addition, she served several years on the Sophia Fahs RE Camp Board and the LIAC (Long Island Area Council) RE Committee. A few years back, Paula was chosen as Youth Advisor of the Year at General Assembly (GA).
